Smoothies also give you a more sustained release of nutrients as it takes longer to digest the fiber.
This method requires a dedicated juicing machine that extracts the juice (both the water and nutrients in the fruit) while removing most of the insoluble fiber. While insoluble fiber is good for you, as stated above, this method does allow you to absorb 100% of the nutrients quickly and easily because the pulp does not slow down absorption. Also, juice does include soluble fiber, which is different from insoluble fiber.
Best of Both Worlds
As with most things, and especially one’s diet, maintaining a healthy balance is best. So rather than picking between smoothies or juicing, try alternating between the two for the best results.
